The seminar “New Arbitration Funding Options in Hong Kong – Making Your Best Informed Choice” was successfully held on 23 February 2023, attracting participants from over 20 jurisdictions globally to register for the event. Distinguished speakers from the legal, arbitration, commercial and insurance sectors shared insights on the variety of arbitration funding options in Hong Kong and, in particular, how arbitration users and stakeholders may benefit from more flexible funding arrangements with the full implementation of the user-oriented brand new regime – Outcome Related Fee Structures for Arbitration (ORFSA) since December 2022. The Secretary for Justice, Mr Paul Lam, SC, remarked that innovative and comprehensive arbitration funding options in Hong Kong will generate new momentum to all arbitration users and practitioners in Hong Kong and beyond.
